Shooting Incident

MAHAYAG, Zamboanga del Sur - Shooting incident transpired at Purok 1, Barangay Manggilis, Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur at about 10:35 PM of May 30, 2019.

The victim was as Marjun Yayung Tormis, 26 years old, married, farmer, a resident of Purok 2 Barangay Manlabay, Dumingag, Zamboanga Del Sur.

Investigation disclosed that the victim was drinking inside at karaoke bar, situated at Purok 1, Barangay Manggilis, Mahayag owned by Mrs. Grace Saberon when three unidentified male personalities arrived insisted to entered the video k house to buy liquor but the owner of the store refuse because she was about to close the establishment.

Thereafter commotion arises wherein one of the three persons, who was armed with undermined short caliber firearm directly pointed to the victim and shot the victim.

He sustained one entry gunshot wound at his chest and was brought to Lorenzo Tan Multi-Purpose Cooperative hospital situated at Poblacion Mahayag Zamboanga del Sur for immediate medical treatment. He was later referred to Mhars-Gen Hospital Ozamis City for further medical attention.

The unidentified suspects immediately fled towards the direction of Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur, after the incident. The motive of the incident is still to be determined.       

PNP personnel of Mahayag Municipal Police Station are now conducting follow up investigation on the incident.

Carpenter Held for the Crime of Frustrated Murder

MAHAYAG, Zamboanga del Sur - PNP personnel of Mahayag Municipal Police Station conducted police operation (service of arrest warrant) at Purok 1, Barangay Daniel C Mantos, Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur at about 8:30 AM of May 13, 2019.

Police Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director  said the operation resulted to the arrest of Brando Gonzagon Y Macasalong, 36 years old, male, married, carpenter, and a resident of Purok 6, Barangay Daniel C Mantos, Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur.

The accused was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the Crime of Frustrated Murder, docketed under criminal case number 2018-10-3597, issued by Hon. Jaime B Caberte, Regional Trial Court, 9th Judicial Region, Branch 23, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur with bail bond recommended fixed at (Php200,000.00).

Subject person is now temporarily detained at Mahayag MPS detention cell while waiting for commitment order from the court.

1 person killed in Shooting Incident

MAHAYAG, Zamboanga del Ssur (April 20, 2019) – One person was killed in Shooting incident transpired at Purok Golden Shower, Barangay San Isidro, Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur at about 5:50 PM of April 18, 2019.

The incident was perpetrated by two (2) unidentified motorcycle riding suspects (MRS).

Police Captain Anjelo D Acuzar, Mahayag Police Chief identified the victim as Bonifacio Imfiel Y Geniares, 36 years old, jobless, with live-in partner, and a resident of Purok Mangga, Brgy. Madasigon, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur.

Investigation disclosed that at about 5:45 PM of same date, the victim was riding his single MC, Honda XRM 125, color black with white combination traversing from Sitio Sandal, Barangay San Isidro, Mahayag Municipality bound to Molave Municipality, all of Zamboanga del Sur.

While reaching at the above-mentioned place of incident, the victim made a temporary stop at the road, suddenly two (2) unidentified motorcycle riding suspects (MRS) onboard undetermined type of single MC coming from the opposite direction suddenly shot the victim using a hand gun, but same malfunctioned prompting the victim to attacked and grabbed the firearm of the suspect back rider.

However, suspect driver drew his firearm believed to be caliber 45 pistol and shot the victim several times.

As a result, victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds on his body and was rushed to Salug Valley Medical Hospital, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur for immediate medical treatment, but victim declared dead on arrival (DOA) by the attending Physician, while suspects fled towards Molave, Zamboanga del Sur.

Evidence recovered from the crime scene were six (6) fired cartridge cases of caliber 45 pistol, and one (1) magazine of same caliber to be turned over to Provincial Crime Laboratory Office (PCLO) for ballistic examination. The single MC of victim was brought to Mahayag MPS for proper disposition, while motive of the incident is yet to be determined.       

Further investigation disclosed that said victim was a former victim of the shooting incident last February 3, 2019 at Purok 1, Barangay Daniel C Mantos, Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur.

Police Brigadier General Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director ordered the PNP personnel of Mahayag MPS to conduct thorough investigation to possibly identify, locate and arrest the fleeing suspects

Wanted Person Cuffed

MAHAYAG, Zamboanga Del Sur (Feb. 8, 2019) - PNP personnel of Mahayag Municipal Police conducted police operation (Service of Arrest Warrant) at P-2, Barangay Poblacion, Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur on February 8, 2019 at about 10:00 AM.

The successful operation was resulted to the arrest of Pablo Rivera Jr Y Nazara, 36 years old, married, carpenter by occupation, and resident of Purok 3, Barangay Lower Salug Daku, Mahayag, Zamboanga Del Sur.

The accused was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the Crime of Act of Lasciviousness in relation to RA 7610, docketed under Criminal Case number 2013-10-2689, issued by Presiding Judge, Regional Trial Court, Branch 23, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur with bail bond recommended fixed at (Php80,000.00) for his temporary liberty.

Subject person is now temporarily detained at Mahayag MPS detention cell awaiting commitment order from the court.

Shooting Incident

MAHAYAG, Zamboanga del Sur (Feb. 4, 2019) - Shooting incident transpired Purok 1, Barangay Daniel C. Mantos, Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur.

The victim identified as Bonifacio Geniares Imfiel, 36 years old, with live-in partner, jobless, a resident of Purok Mangga, Barangay Madasigon, Molave, Zamboanga Del Sur, he was shot by unidentified suspect.

Initial investigation conducted disclosed that victim was riding his single motorcycle XRM 125 color black/white combination coming from Barangay Lantawan, Sominot, Zamboanga del Sur heading to Molave, Zamboanga del Sur. 

Upon reaching at the aforesaid place of incident, two unidentified male personalities on board of unknown type of single motorcycle followed him from behind, then and there deliberately shot the victim several times with the used of caliber .45 pistol based on the recovered empty shells at the crime scene.

Victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the different parts of his body and was immediately brought to Salug Valley Medical Center, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur for his immediate medical attention.

However, the attending physician referred the said victim to MHARS Medical Center at Ozamis City, Misamis Occidental for further medical treatment.

The suspects fled immediately heading to Barangay San Jose, Mahayag, Zamboanga Del Sur.

PNP elements of Mahayag MPS conducted pursuit and manhunt operations against the fleeing suspects but yielded negative result.

Recovered from the crime scene were (2) empty shells of caliber .45 pistol and to be submitted to Provincial Crime Laboratory Office for ballistic examination.

The single motorcycle of the victim is now under the custody of Mahayag MPS for proper disposition. Motive of the incident is yet to be determined.

Rape Suspect Arrested

MAHAYAG, Zaboanga del Sur (Jan. 23, 2019) – The Joint PNP Personnel of Mahayag MPS and Tangub CPS conducted police operation on wanted person at about 6:00 AM of January 22, 2019 at Purok 7 Barangay Isidro D Tan, Tangub City, Missamis Occidental.

The operation resulted to the arrest of Guillermo Baterna y Altaya alias “Boy”, male, married, 72 years old, carpenter and a resident of P-7 Barangay Isidro D Tan, Tangub City, Missamis Occidental.

The accused was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the crime of Rape under criminal case number no. 2011-10-2462 issued by Presiding Judge, Regional Trial Court, 9th Judicial Region, Branch 23, Molave,Zambonga del Sur with no recommended bail bond.

The arrested subject person is now under the custody of Mahayag MPS for proper disposition.

2 Arrested for Estafa

MAHAYAG, Zamboanga Del Sur (Dec. 28, 2018) - Police operatives of Mahayag Police Station conducted operation (service of warrant) at Purok 5, Brgy. Balamban, Mahayag, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 8:00 AM of December 27, 2018.

The operation was resulted to the arrest of Richard Sedilla Y Verdeflor, 40 year’s old, live-in, carpenter and Maricel Sedilla Y Yamido, 39 years old, live-in, jobless, both residents of above-said place.

The suspect was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the crime of Estafa docketed under Criminal Case no.5147-M issued by Presiding Judge Crislyn C. Pangindian of 9th Judicial Region, 11th MCTC of Mahayag-Dumingag & Josefina, Mahayag Zamboanga Del Sur with bail bond Php 18,000.00 each.

Arrested Wanted persons are now temporarily detained at Mahayag MPS for proper disposition.

Wanted Person Arrested

MAHAYAG, Zamboanga Del Sur (Dec. 24, 2018) – The PNP personnel of Mahayag MPS successfully arrested the suspect during the conduct of operation (service of warrant) at Purok 1, Brgy. Upper Salug, Mahayag, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 9:30 PM of December 23, 2018.

The operating team identified the arrested suspect as Consimino Bacalso Y Baterna, 34 years old, single, farmer and a resident of P-1 Brgy. Upper Salug Daku, Mahayag, Zamboanga Del Sur.

The suspect was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the crime of Frustrated Murder docketed under Criminal Case no.2016-10-3117 issued by Presiding Judge Jaime B. Caberte of RTC, Ninth Judicial Region, Branch 23, Molave Zamboanga Del Sur with bail bond 24,000.00 pesos.

Man Arrested for Carrying Unlicensed FA

MAHAYAG, Zamboanga del Sur (Dec. 22, 2018) - On December 21, 2018 at about 5:00 AM, PNP personnel of Mahayag MPS arrested the person of Severino Sister Y Labastida Jr., 42 years old, armed with undetermined type of caliber of firearm inside the premises of the venue Disco at Barangay Hall of Barangay Manguiles, Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur.

Responding PNP team recover from the possession and control of the suspect one (1) Chamber loaded Cal. 45 pistol 1911, with markings Colt S PT FA MFG CO HARTFORT CONN, CT., U.S.A. NO.135741, loaded with Six (6) live ammunitions and one (1) Cal. 45 Magazine.

 That latter suspect failed to show any pertinent documents of the above-described firearm prompted the responding Police officers to held him under arrest.

Subject person temporary detained at Mahayag MPS for proper disposition.

Teacher Held in Mahayag, Zamboanga Del Sur for Estafa

MAHAYAG, Zamboanga del Sur (Dec. 18, 2018) – The PNP personnel of Mahayag Police Station conducted operation at Purok 4, Brgy. Poblacion, Mahayag, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 9:30 A.M., December 17, 2018.

The successful operation was resulted to the arrest of the suspect identified as Mryna Alberio y’ Malalay 48 years old married, Teacher, resident of Purok 4, Brgy. Poblacion, Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur.

The suspect was arrested by virtue of warrant of arrest issued by Presiding Judge Crislyn C. Pangindian of 11th MCTC of Mahayag-Dumingag and Josefina, Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur dated November 29, 2018 for the crime of Estafa docketed under Criminal Case No. 5169- M with bail bond recommended for his temporary liberty fixed in the amount of Eighteen Thousand (P18, 000) Pesos.

The arreste suspect was immediately brought to Mahayag Municipal Police Station, Mahayag, Zamboanga Del Sur for proper disposition.

2 suspects Nabbed for Estafa

MAHAYAG, Zamboanga Del Sur (Dec. 13, 2018) - Police operatives of Mahayag Police Station conducted police operation on wanted person (Service of Arrest Warrant) at Purok 2, Brgy. Daniel C. Mantos, Mahayag, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 10:00 AM of December 12, 2018.

The operation was resulted to the arrests of the ssuspect identified as Edgar Pagal Dilao, 64 years old, married, Brgy. Councillor and Wilma Sensontic Dilao, 60 years old, married, teacher by profession both residents of Brgy. Daniel C. Mantos, Mahayag, Zamboanga Del Sur. 

The accused were arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the crime of Estafa docketed under Criminal Case No. 5166- M issued on November 29, 2018 by Honorable Judge Crislyn C. Pangindian of 11th MCTC of Mahayag-Dumingag and Josefina, Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur with a bail bond recommended of Eighteen Thousand Pesos (Php18, 000.00) each for their temporary liberty.

The arrested persons were now under the custody of Mahayag MPS for proper disposition.

Vehicular Traffic Accident

MAHAYAG, Zamboanga del Sur (Dec. 10, 2018) - A motor vehicular traffic accident transpired at Barangay Road of Purok 4, Barangay Tuburan, Mahayag, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 6:40 PM of December 09, 2018.

The accident was involving one Military type Jeep vehicle color green with no plate number fell over the cliff. 

Initial investigation conducted by Mahayag MPS disclosed that Military type vehicle was driven by Nul Vizier Vailoces Tandih, 39 years old, married, driver by occupation with six (6) passengers identified as:

Crem Dan Abrea Dagohoy, 32 years old,

Roderick Dahil-Dahil Baylon, 46 years old,

Romy Tic Lumigues, 36 years old,

Rommel Dahil-Dahil Baylon, 42 years old,

Arque Judes Declinis, 43 years old, all residents of Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur and

Oktober Ceballos Garay, 30 years old, resident of Brgy. Culabay, Tabina, Zamboanga Del Sur.

They were traversing the Barangay Road from Mabanag Spring Resort situated at Brgy. Tuburan, Mahayag, Zamboanga Del Sur heading to Pagadian City that upon reaching at the aforesaid place of incident accidentally overshot the road and subsequently bumped to the steel railings and fell over the cliff. 

As a result thereof, the driver and the passengers sustained injuries in the different parts of their bodies and was immediately brought to Lorenzo Tan Multi-Purpose Cooperative Hospital (LTMPC), Poblacion, Mahayag, Zamboanga Del Sur for immediate medical attention while said Military Jeep incurred severe damaged.

Rape Suspect Arrested

MAHAYAG, Zamboanga del Sur (Dec. 1, 2018) - PNP personnel of Mahayag MPS, Plaridel MPS Misamis Occidental and CIDG Misamis Occidental conducted joint police operation on wanted person (Service of Arrest Warrant) at about 11:45 AM of November 29, 2018 at St. Nicholas School of Plaridel, Brgy. Northern Poblacion, Plaridel, Misamis Occidental. 

The operation was resulted to the arrest of the suspect identified as Herland Dolosa y Loquero, aka “dodong” 20 years old, single, student, and a resident of Purok 5, Brgy. San Jose, Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur. 

The accused was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the crime of Rape docketed under Criminal Case No. 2018-10-3590 issued on November 19, 2018 by Honorable Judge Jaime B. Caberte, Presiding Judge of Regional Trial Court, 9th Judicial Region, Branch 23 Molave, Zamboanga del Sur with no bail bond recommended.

The arrested person is now under the custody of Mahayag MPS for proper disposition.

RA 7610 Violator Arrested

MAHAYAG, Zamboanga Del Sur (Nov. 25, 2018) – The PNP personnel of Mahayag MPS conducted police operation on wanted person (Service of Arrest Warrant) at about 10:30 AM of November 24, 2018 at Purok 3, Brgy. San Jose, Mahayag, Zamboanga Del Sur.

The operation was resulted to the arrest of Rolando Rosillosa Hesuler, 52 years old, (DOB: June 19, 1966), married, farmer and a resident of Purok 3, Brgy. San Jose, Mahayag, Zamboanga Del Sur.

The accused was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the crime Child Abuse (R.A. 7610) docketed under Criminal Case No. 2018-10-3594 issued on November 21, 2018 by Honorable Judge Jaime B. Caberte, Presiding Judge of RTC 9, Branch 23, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur with a bail bond recommended of Fifty Thousand Pesos (Php50,000) for his temporary liberty.

The arrested person is now under the custody of Mahayag MPS for proper disposition.

Shooting Incident

MAHAYAG, Zamboanga del Sur (Oct. 12, 2018) - Shooting incident transpired at Purok 1 Bayanihan, Brgy. Lower Salug Daku, Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur at about 5:18pm of October 11, 2018.

The Victim identified as Teomila Nobleza Y Aclon, 40 years old, married, female, an incumbent Sangguniang Bayan (SB) member of Mahayag, Zamboanga Del Sur and a resident of Purok 2, Brgy. San Jose, Mahayag, Zamboanga Del Sur.

The victim was shot by riding in tandem criminal suspects but fortunately she was unharmed.

Suspects fled heading to Brgy. Upper Salug Daku, Mahayag this province. Mahayag MPS conducted hot pursuit operation for the possible arrest of the suspect/s. Motive of the incident is still to be determined.

Wanted Person Arrested in Mahayag, Zamboanga Del Sur

MAHAYAG, Zambonga 3el Sur (Sept. 25, 2018) – The Police operatives of Mahayag MPS conducted manhunt operation at Purok 5, Brgy. Boniao, Mahayag, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 8:00 AM of September 21, 2018.

The operation was led to the arrest of Elsa Camus Loyola, female, 52 years old, separated, farmer and a resident of Purok 5, Brgy. Boniao, Mahayag.

The accused was arrested for the crime of Estafa docketed under criminal case no. 5133-M and 5132-M dated September 14, 2018 with bail bond recommended for her temporary liberty fixed in the amount of Ten Thousand Pesos (Php10,000.00) each.

The Warrant of arrest was issued by Presiding Judge Crislyn C. Pangindian of 11th MCTC of Mahayag-Dumingag-Josefina, Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur.

Subject wanted person was brought to Mahayag Municipal Police Station, Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur for proper documentations and disposition.

Female Dead Body Found

MAHAYAG, Zamboanga del Sur (Sept. 4, 2018) - A female dead body found lying at the rice field of Purok 6, Barangay Boniao, Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur.

PNP elements of Mahayag MPS proceeded to the reported place and explicitly saw one female personality lying lifeless at the rice field sustained serious hacking injuries on her left face and left arm resulting to her sudden death. The victim was positively identified by his son Jessie Maglinte Aplaca as Perla Maglinte Aplaca, 64 years old, widow, farm laborer, a resident of Purok 3, Barangay Manguiles, Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur.

Investigation conducted by Mahayag MPS disclosed that on September 1, 2018 at around 5:00 PM, the victim together with his son Jessie Aplaca with live-in partner Miraflor were at the videoke house owned by Afredo Caliso situated at Purok 6, Barangay Boniao, Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur.

Thereat, the victim and Afredo Caliso were drinking liquor (Kulafu) while victim son Jessie Aplaca and live in-partner singing at the videoke. At around 5:30 P.M., of same date (September 1, 2018) victim brother in law identified as Loreto Panoy Aplaca arrived to said videoke house and minutes later victim nephew identified as Tammy Caliso Lomo also arrived and therein victim, Alfredo Caliso, Loreto Aplaca and Tammy Lomo were having a drinking session.

That at around 7:00 P.M., of same date (September 1, 2018) victim son Jessie Aplaca and live-in partner went home while the victim together with Alfredo Caliso, Loreto Aplaca and Tammy Lomo continued their drinking session.

At around 7:30 P.M., of same date (September 1, 2018) Tammy Lomo asked to go home first and minute’s later victim also went home. At around 5:45 A.M., September 2, 2018 while Mr. Errol Majorenos walking at the ricefield area of Purok 6, Barangay Boniao, Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur, he saw the aforesaid victim lying at the rice field and immediately called the aforesaid barangay captain.

The Mahayag MPS is now conducting thorough investigation for possible identification and apprehension of the suspect. However, Mahayag MPS is now submitting to the Provincial Crime Laboratory Office, Camp Abelon, Pagadian City for cross matching examination of a Maroon Jacket believed to be having a blood stain from the alleged suspect and the t-shirts of the victim containing blood sample.

Motive of the incident is yet to be determined. The investigator is P02 Ariel U Saloma with CP # 09120991246.

Wanted Man Arrested in Ozamis City

MAHAYAG, ZamboSur (Aug. 31, 2018) – The Combined operatives of Mahayag MPS and Zamboanga Del Sur Provincial Mobile Force Company (ZSPMFC) arrested wnted person during the conduct of manhunt operation at Barangay Bongbong, Ozamis City at about 5:00 PM of August 30, 2018

The operating troops identified the arrested wanted person as Richard Nacua y Padollon, 28 years old, with live-in partner, carpenter and a resident of Purok 5, Barangay Carangan Buli, Ozamis City.

The accused was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the crime of Estafa (Art. 318, RPC) with criminal case no. 5090-M) signed and issued by Hon. Crislyn Pangindian, Presiding Judge 11th MCTC of Mahayag-Dumingag and Josefina, Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur dated January 17, 2018, with No bail recommended.

Carnapper Arested in Mahayag, Zamboanga Del Sur

MAHAYAG, ZamboSur (Aug. 3, 2018) – The PNP personnel of Molave MPS and Mahayag MPS has arrested a notorious Carnapper in a joint Manhunt Operation “Charlie” at Purok Tinago, Barangay Sicpao, Mahayag, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 4:45pm of August 1, 2018.

Police Chief Inspector Olympus W Bas, Molave Police Chief identified the arrested person as one Ariel Baylosis Oplan, 23 years old, male, single and resident of Purok Maliwanag, Brgy Parasan, Molave, Zamboanga Del Sur.

CINSP Bas said that the wanted person was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest with Criminal Case # 13927-2k18 for the crime of Carnapping with bail recommended of Php 00,000.00 issued by Hon Judge Ivy Damayo Elviña, Presiding Judge, RTC Branch 21, Pagadian City on July 17, 2018. 

The arrested person is now under the custody of Molave MPS for documentation and booking procedure prior turn over to the issuing court for proper disposition. (By JONG CADION)

Robbery Suspect Arrested in Mahayag

MAHAYAG, Zamboanga del Sur (July 11, 2018) - PNP elements of Mahayag MPS together with Molave MPS personnelconducted police operation (Service of Arrest Warrant) at Purok 3, BrgyPoblacion, Mahayag, ZamboangaDel Surat about 1:00 PM of July 09, 2018.

The operation was resulted to the arrest of RodelBestudio y Pilapil, 34 years old, single, farmer and a resident of Purok 1, BrgyUpperSto Niño, Mahayag, Zamboanga del sur.

The accused was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the Crime of Robbery docketed under CC. No.2009-10-2156 dated July 9, 2009, issued by Hon. Ernesto M. Laurel, Acting Presiding Judge, RTC, 9th Judicial Region, Branch 23, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur with P24, 000.00 recommended bail Twenty-four thousand (24,000.00) pesos for his temporarily liberty.

The accused is now temporarily detained at Mahayag MPS detention cell waiting for court disposition.
