Man Arrested for the Crime of Reckless Imprudence resulting to Homicide

NAHAYAG, Zamboanga del Sur (April 19, 2018) – The combined operatives of Mahayag Municipal police Station and Dumingag Police Station conducted a joint manhunt operation Wednesday at 1:00pm in Purok Dancing Lady, Barangay San Pedro, Dumingag of this province.

The joint operation resulted to the successful arrest of the suspect identified as Nonic Sansa Tangkay, 46 years old, married, LGU Casual Employee and a resident of the said place for the crime of Reckless Imprudence resulting to Homicide.

The suspect was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest issued by Presiding Judge Crislyn C. Pangindian, 11th Municipal Circuit Trial Court of Mahayag-Dumingag and Josefina, Ninth Judicial Region, Mahayag of this province docketed under Criminal Case No. 5117-d with bail bond recommended for his temporary liberty fixed in the amount of Twelve Thousand Pesos (P12, 000.00).

The accused is now temporary detained at Mahayag MPS locke-up cell for proper disposition. (Jong Cadion)

Murder Suspect Arrested in Mahayag

MAHAYAG, Zamboanga Del Sur (April 18, 2018) – The elements of Mahayag Municipal Police Station headed by the Chief of Police Chief Inspector Van Froilan Tompong conducted service of warrant of arrest in Purok 2, Barangay Poblacion of this municipality Tuesday at around 9:30am.

Chief Inspector Tompong said the operation resulted to the successful arrest of the suspect identified as Mayon Gonsagon Y Macasalong, 40 years old, married, farmer and a resident of P-6 Barangay DMC of this municipality.

The Warrant of Arrest against the suspect was issued by Hon. Jaime B. Caberte, Presiding Judge of Branch 23 of Regional Trial Court, 9th Judicial Region, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur for the crime of frustrated murder and double attempted murder docketed under Criminal Case No. 2018-10-3526.

The Warrant of Arrtrest dated April 5, 2018 with a bail bond of Two Hundred Twenty Thousand Pesos (Php220,000.00) for his temporary liberty, the Police Officials disclosed.

The accused is now temporarily detained Mahayag MPS detention cell while waiting for final adjudication from court. (By Jong Cadion)

Robbery with shooting Incident in Mahayag

MAHAYAG, Zamboanga del Sur (April 16, 2018) - A robbery with shooting incident transpired at the house owned by Sergio Villazur Niza Jr, 66 years old, farmer spouses and house wife Jovita Bagaslao Niza, 69 years old, both residents of Purok 3, Barangay Guripan, of the said municipality on Saturday at about 7:45pm.

Case Investigator PO2 Ariel Urot Saloma in their initial investigation disclosed that at around 7:45pm of same date while said victims together with Alejandro Rota Montefalcon (paid laborer) were taking their dinner inside their house when suddenly two unidentified male personalities armed with a hand gun entered their house and pointed them and uttered words in visayan dialect “tulis ni! kwarta lay among tuyo.”

The victim (sergio niza jr) manage to struggle and was able to grab the hand on one of the suspects and fortunately took the caliber .357 revolver pointed at him.  However, the other suspect fired at him twice using a caliber .45 pistol. The victim managed to retaliate by using the cal. 357 revolver. As a result, victim sustained a gunshot wounds on his left ring finger and right leg and was immediately brought to LTMPC Hospital, Poblacion of the said municipality for immediate medical attention.

The suspects fled towards Barangay Panagaan, Mahayag, Zamboaga Del Sur. Recovered from the crime scene two (2) fired cartridges of caliber .45 and the victim Sergio Niza Jr turned-over to investigator on case one (1) caliber .357 revolver with two (2) live ammunition and two (2) empty shells inside the cylinder which he took from one of the suspects.
